Likkle Monkeys is owned and run by two sisters, June Smith and Susan Kelly.
The play centre itself isnt like any other play centre you have ever been to.....it has character.
The building is an old Methodist church and has been used in the past as a school and a nursery too.
You will be suprised what has been packed into the space, most people comment "it doesnt look this big from outside"
There are two totally seperate play facilities one on the upper floor aimed at 5-12 year olds and a toddler area located on the lower floor specifically for the younger children.
Dont worry if you have children in different age groups we have CCTV where you can watch the big kids play upstairs from the cafe area whilst watching the little ones in the toddler area.
Parent/carers and tots sessions are held every weekday morning (term time) and these are proving very popular with the children and their carers - its fast becoming a meeting place where you can bring the children to safe environment and have a nice tea/coffee (free with entry)
and a piece of homemade cake....
As Likkle Monkeys is a family run business we try to ensure that families are well catered for and that the customer service received is outstanding.
We also promote healthy eating in our "Monkey Munch" cafe which is now famed for its realistic pricing and freshly made food.
We spent hours visiting other play areas in different parts of the country checking out what was on offer and picking up lots of tips on how to do it and how not to do it.
We spoke to friends and other parents asking them what they would want in a play area and found that they wanted the same as us.
Through hard work and sheer determination we feel we've got something a little different for you to enjoy.
Having taken on board all the feedback we received from parents and the little mystery shoppers who came along with us we feel we have achieved the perfect blend
of entertainment for both Likkle Monkeys and the adults who they bring with them...
With the encouragement and support from our friends and family, the old Methodist Hall which was once run down and in need of some TLC has been given a full revamp.
There are new stairs to the lower floor, some of the walls have been replace dor are missing all together. The washrooms have been completlely remodelled with "Trafford Centre" style
Parent and child toilets..
So what was our goal, what did we really want to achieve? Exactly this.
An environment where the children could release their imagination; have fun and enjoy the adventure. Play zones that provide limitless exploration and learning.
A place that lets parents enjoy being parents without the added pressure of creating fun on their own.
Our other goal was to create a quality environment for adults as well as the children.
The comfy sofas to kick back and relax on with the latest magazines and daily papers to hand - obviously still keeping a watchful eye on the young ones.
But more important the chance to actually finish and enjoy a good, hot cup of coffee or tea!
So there we have it - Likkle Monkeys, a place the kids want to go to and where you want to take them.
